Yesterday, 21st May 2012 marked the 16th anniversary since Mv Bukoba went down in Lake Victoria taking the lives of approximately 1000 Tanzanians.
Flaviana Matata an international super model and former beauty queen donated 500 life vests to help in saving lives of innocent Tanzanians through her Flaviana Matata Foundation (FMF) to Marine Service Co.Ltd located in Mwanza.
She placed flowers at the graveyard in memory of the departed Tanzanians
She couldn't help herself from shedding tears as she lost her own mother in the accident. May God give you strength Flaviana.....may the soul of your mother rest in peace

People lost their lives from lack of life vests which are an essential items on marine transport.
Hongera sana Flaviana Matata this is indeed giving back to the community as it is touching directly the lives of most Tanzanians especially those residing in the Lake Victoria arena and they have to use this transport going about their daily business. The emphasis should now be on training people on how to use the life jackets at a time of emergency and as a norm.
May the souls of MV BUKOBA victims rest in peace.......and I hope we do not go through the same tragedy in future.
God bless Tanzania and God bless those who love Tanzania........
We should all be thinking 'What I can do for my beloved country and not what the country will do for me'
