Uhuru Kenyatta makes history by becoming the East African nation’s youngest president (he’s 51) and the first son of a president to take power in a competitive election in East and Central Africa. Kenyatta won 50.07% of the total votes cast, in comparison to his closest rival, incumbent Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who pulled 43% of the votes. Under Kenyan law, the winning candidate is required to win at least 50% of the total vote in order to avoid a second round runoff
Will he live to the legacy of his dad, Jomo Kenyatta (Kenya's 1st president)
Will he take Kenyans to the 'promised land'
"My Fellow Kenyans, I may not have done you the best things, but MAMA NGINA has helped me do it for you!! You all know, I dedicate all my youthfulness fo fight the white butterflies out of the ridges and valleys of Kenya and purposely today Kenyans are free!! Its because of this long-awaited freedom, that I have decided to dedicate this wonderful gift given to you by Mama Ngina to the Kenyans!! His name shall be UHURU. I tell you today, even when I am gone, it is this freedom (UHURU) that will take you to the promised land!" - Jommo Kenyata (RIP)
